Easy access from either Thessaloniki Airport<\/a> International Airport Macedonia (SKG)<\/em>, or\u00a0Kavala<\/a>\u2013 Megas Alexandros \u0391irport (KVA)<\/em> with a big choice of flights, especially during the summer months. Travel times from Thessaloniki to Thassos are approximately 2.5 hours and just one hour from Kavala Airport, both times include the ferry boat journey<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Potamia is the home of the Museum of Vagis<\/em><\/strong>, here you can admire dozens of examples of his unique sculptures and paintings. Last but not least, a \u2018must do\u2019<\/strong> is to visit at least one of the folklore museums<\/em>! Two of the biggest are the Theologos Foklore Museum <\/em><\/strong>and the Kalogeriko<\/a> in Limenas (Thassos Town). They will give you insight into Thassian traditions and customs and how Thassians lived in the not so distant past.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

7. What to do – Monasteries<\/h3>\r\n

You can also visit the wonderful monasteries<\/em> and churches <\/em>of the island! The most famous and biggest is the Monastery of Archangel<\/em> between Astris and Aliki, but of course there are more to discover!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

8. Beaches in Thassos<\/h3>\r\n

Next Stop? Beach of course!<\/a><\/strong><\/em> Hundreds of small bays and coves,<\/em> long sandy beaches<\/em> all cooled by the Aegeans turquoise waters<\/em>. You will find a beach to suit your mood, from beaches with beach bars, sunbeds and umbrellas, taverns, water sports, scuba diving and other activities to simply beaches with just you<\/em> and our beautiful surroundings<\/em>, nothing else! Most beaches are very child friendly<\/a><\/strong> with shallow water.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
