The local office in Limenas – Thassos Town can be found on the left hand side of the port on the opposite side to the bus station, very close to where the ferries berth.
Our hire office is ideally situated for both pickups and continuing on with your journey without issue.
Our opening hours are from 08:30 to 13:00 and from 17:00 to 21:00. Any services required after this is subject to a €15 charge and a pre booking will be required to collect your car. If there is an emergency, we offer 24 hour assistance on 0030 698 301 48 99.
We strive to make the collection and drop off of your car as easy as possible, whether you come to the rental office or require collecting from the hotel, you can be certain of a punctual and personal service. Your immaculate vehicle will be waiting when you arrive and dropping off your car couldn't be easier.
When picking up your car, please ensure that you have the relevant documents such as driving license and passport/IDs. For those families travelling with kids, we offer baby or booster seats but please make sure you inform us at the time of booking.
We advise customers to pre book their cars at least 2 to 4 days before arrival, especially during the high season which runs from July to August as availability at this time could be limited.
When collecting you car from Limenas – Thassos Town why not take the time to check out the island’s capital and its liveliest resort. Here you will find an excellent choice of restaurants, tavernas, bars, shops, supermarkets and amusements. The sunsets from either the old or new harbour are amazing and you will be spoilt for choice as to where to get the best experience.
In the town itself and just outside you will find a number of archaeological sites, a museum and just behind the old harbour you will find the first and most important site, the Agora (the Forum).
Just like in any larger town, there are numerous banks and plenty of doctors. Because of the town’s popularity, parking can be difficult so we recommend that you park in the large free car park situated just past the ferry port. It’s only a short distance by foot into the town from there.
If you’re feeling adventurous you and your hire car can take the ferry from Limenas to Keramoti. From Keramoti you can visit some nearby places of interest on the mainland such as Kavala, Philippi and the Alistrati caves.

Itineraries can always change at short notice so it is always worth checking before you travel and tickets cannot be purchased online or in advance. Tickets must be bought on the day at the port kiosks.
Important: if you are planning on using a car from Potos Car Rentals you will need written consent (on the rental agreement) before taking your car onto the ferry. Please let us know before hand if you plan to travel to the mainland in one of our cars.
Regardless of whether you want to go north or south from Limenas, there are lots of petrol stations that are easy to reach.
Travelling south on the main highway you will experience wonderful sea views, clandestine coves and beaches and lots of tavernas to explore including Glyfada, Papalimani, Pachis and the resort of Skala Rachoni.
Heading north you will find the mountain village of Panagia with its stunning views overlooking Golden Beach and Skala Potamia and its busy narrow streets filled with restaurants, tavernas and shops.
