Golden Beach Thassos – locally called Chrissi Ammoudia – is a Blue Flag-certified 2 km stretch of fine golden sand on the eastern coast of Thassos Island, 11 km southeast of Limenas (the island capital and main port). Set between the resort villages of Skala Panagia and Skala Potamia with Mount Ipsarion rising behind, the beach is celebrated for its shallow turquoise water (safe for swimming up to 50 m from shore), its east-facing position for spectacular sunrises over the Thracian Sea, and its full beach infrastructure – sunbeds, watersports, showers, volleyball, and 5+ tavernas. Summer temperatures average 26-28 °C with sea temperatures peaking at 25 °C in August, supported by nearly 13 hours of sunshine per day in July.
